about us by Foreign tourist

Accommodation: “Sleeping bags were very high quality and tents were spacious. Shower facilities provided at end of trek were an added bonus. Food: Surpassed all expectations. We were fed huge portions and there were always enough snacks to get us up the last few hundred meters. Service: Everyone was very welcoming and helpful, always ready to answer our questions. The friendly campfires at night topped off the experience. Trek: The Beas Kund trek was exactly what we were looking for. The scenery was breathtaking and our guide Ravinder was always ready to accommodate our request and take us up to 4000m. Overall: the fantastic few days in the beautiful part of the country made better by booking our trek with Potala Adventurers Company. We would definitely recommend Potala Adventurers to our friends! ”.

Harriet M. & group - London, ENGLAND, 31 Oct - 03 Nov 2011

“We spent a total of 3 days in the Spiti Valley touring the monastries and 10 days on the Pin Parvati trek. The team were fantastic, in particular our cook who prepared varied and delicious food for us every evening, not to mention the little surprises we found in our lunch boxes, and a stream of tea and biscuits, and other little treats. While we were worried about food hygiene in other parts of India, we had absolutely no concerns on our tour (and rightly so)! This is a beautiful trek, crossing from the barren Spiti Valley into the beautiful green Parvati Valley on which we saw no-one bar a few shepherds for days on end. All the equipment was modern and good, and we were very happy with the organization of the tour”.

Jochen V. and Anne E. Germany, 28 Aug - 12 Sep. 2011

"Potala was exceptionally response to our requests for specific itinerary concerns. We wanted a slower than was originally planned and Potala made certain each day was perfect for our 70 years. Potala gave us the feeling that nothing was more important to them than the success of our trek. It was a great experience.

Team work is so important in making a trip successful. Our Guide and cook, staff and horseman all work together, each one making certain that our trek was successful. Tent went up promontly, food was delicious and horse even carried lunches some days. Our guide was very attentive to river crossings, to good monasteries and school visits and to our being happy. One staff member showed his knowledge of Himalayan plants with us. Everyone waited for us at Shingo la that was so special".

Barbara, USA - 09-09-2010

"Potala Adventurers was responsive to all questions and concerns. They were willing to take on our group of four, ranging in age from 62 to 70 years for the Zanskar trek culminating in the transverse of Shingo la at 16700 feet – We enjoyed 8 wonderful days of trekking and 3 on the road. We are happy to recommend Potala".

Cynthia N, Georgetown, USA

"The Trek was excellent in all respects. The staff works well as a team and we enjoyed interacting with them. They dealt effectively with the fact that our ages (62-70 ) made us a bit slower than most groups. Sunder the cook prepared an amazing variety of tasty food. All equipment and arrangements work ed as expected. We would definitely recommend Potala Adventurers".

Chris H, Massachusetts, USA

The trek has been very well organized. There was nothing we could complaint about. We can recommend the agency - POTALA Adventurers - anybody who intends to make a trekking tour from Manali.

The staff made an excellent job, from the guide over the cook, who offered very tasty food every day. They help us and each other in every situation and worked perfectly together, our great compliments to them.

Himalayan trekking

The Himalayan trekking was extremely magnificent. Our Guide knew the ways of the mountains and everything in it. Our food was great and was never a problem. Even my 12 YEARS OLD DAUGHTER loved and enjoyed it. Himalayan trekking is wonderful and I would recommend POTALA Adventurers to everyone.

Nagveni M – TORONTO -- CANADIAN -- 09 July 2010

“Despite the unpredictable weather (especially since it’s the monsoon period), the company did its best to arrange a trek for us. Dealing had been most professional, during booking to the actual trek. There was also personal touch where the company staff helped to shop for trekking shoes and gloves at the market to helping to look for a medicine man to help treat strained ankle. The company went beyond what’s in the itinerary and for that it’s much appreciated. The trek itself was a memorable experience, with “luxury” touch like a Persian mug and checked table cloth & of course 5-star hotel food cooked on the mountains. Thank you so much for a great trek I would recommend people (Avid experience trekkers & beginners) to be most of the incredible India experience in Manali.

Arlina A. & friend – SINGAPORE – 10.07.2010

“One of the best trekking experiences of my life, the company was very accommodating and tried to find a suitable trek for us despite unfavorable rain. Ravi, the guide was well versed in the area and showed us beautiful landscape and scenery. Prem, the cook, was amazing! He can cook a 5-star meal out of thin air. Best food at 3500m I have ever had. All in all it is the people who matter, and with POTALA ADVENTURERS, we were taken care of the minute we got off the bus in Manali, and back.”

Ahmad R. – MALAYSIA – 10.07.2010

I’d like to thanks our guide Pritam for the excellent trek. He is a very good guide, always in a good mood. He was helpful in all situations. During the entire trip everything was really very fine. Thanks for him Zanskar Ladakh trekking was a real pleasure.

Dorota  N Warsaw – Poland 19 July 2010

All service given to us clients have been to my fill pleasance, my expectation have been fulfilled means

The kitchen was very good and always considering our special wishes

The guide organized a good team work with the staff and also made short and agreeable advice of us clients. He has a good skill in leading people. This was showed also by a good atmosphere in the group, in the staff and also he always made good contact with people we met.

The routing was also very nice and the guide always knew very well where to go, where we are and how much time the hike still takes.

Special wishes from our side have been considered like watching the final world’s football cup. Also I got good information about nature – culture.

I would recommend Potala Adventurers to other people and look back on an impressive time.

Judith B – Bern - Switzerland, 30 June - 19 July 2010

“Our second step from Spiti valley to Manikaran, Pin Parvati trek was same perfect organized as 1st part (Lamayuru - Darcha). Porters cook and guide did their work absolutely professional. Thanks to Potala Adventures especially Mr. Tenzin Ningbo head organizer Potala Adventures ".
Mr. B Edelbacher - AUSTRIA. August 2009.

“From 16th July till 5th of August we did great Zanskar trek organizes by Potala Adventures. Not only the trek was amazing, the crews cook, guide and horseman were brilliant and absolutely professional. Whole 3 weeks through Zanskar was an unforgettable adventure".
Mr. B Edelbacher. AUSTRIA. August 2009.

"Thank you very much for organizing this great trek. I really enjoyed it and it was fun. The entire crew was great and did a great job. Guide was Ravinder, who knows very much about the Himalayas. He took care of us and cook was Chandan, who did very well. I enjoyed every meal. I really can recommend Potala-Himalaya because they organize good trekking adventures for fair prices. Thank you so much and see you next year ".

Mr. Phillip, Cologne. GERMANY 25th June 2009.

"When I first arrive in Manali, I knew i wanted to experience a trek. The only question was which company. It is so difficult to put trust into an agency and hope they will come up with the goods. Potala delivered an excellent trek, Ningbo told us not to worry about the service provided and he was right. The service was first class. Our guide, cook, porter and horseman did an excellent job at keeping us fed, happy and safe. We were given the freedom to take different paths if we wanted, which meant we felt a good sense of control over our trek. The 4 campsite were in beautiful locations and for 3 of those nights we were the only camp which made it feel authentic. I would definitely trek again with Potala because it was the first ever Himalayan experience for me and everything i could have wished for and more.

Adam A. Birmingham. ENGLAND. 25th June 2009

Dear Prem Singh and Tenzin,
"We would like to express our greatest appreciation to all the efforts made by Govinda, Chin and Prem in making all aspects of our trek and climb enjoyable and memorable.
The whole team worked very hard, even when they must have been in tired, to look after us on the trek and they catered for all our needs.
The food was of outstanding quality and was always varied, plenty full and very tasty. At all-time Govinda, Chin and Prem went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable.
In Particular we would like to express our appreciation for Govinda, who is an excellent guide - polite, cheerful and enthusiastic at all time. He was great company to be with and we both feel privileged to have met him.
We would not have wished for a better trek and would thoroughly recommend Govinda, Chin and Prem to any of your future clients". Yours,
Antje and Ray, July 2008, United Kingdom

Our experience has been truly a memorable one. The scenery has been an incredible; the interactions with other travelers most enjoyable, and the service provided by our guide, cook and pony man was exceptional. Our guide Sanjay, has been without a doubt, the most accommodating and helpful in every way; Krishan, our cook created fresh culinary masterpiece each day (include a surprise anniversary cake); and omu our pony man, was most gracious in every way. We highly recommend Potala Adventures to all world travelers.

Kristie and Martin, USA, 30 July 2006

"We had a splendid trip in Zanskar!! We are very thankful to Sanjay, who did a splendid job and also Tashi cooked wonderful! We hope we can come back sometimes. Warm greeting ",

Mr. Stefan and Els. Belgium. September 2004

Dear Prem, "we're finally back to Italy and could read just now your emails first of all we would like to thank you for all the assistance for the trip. We loved very much the beautiful places we had the opportunity to visit. We now have great memories of India and intense feelings of our vacation in that beautiful country. We arrived two day earlier to Leh because: in tzo kar we found rain and could not bike all the way from pang to tzo Kar Lake but had to use jeeps instead so we gained time. Also in tzo morini the weather was still very cold and rainy and could not spend the day exploring the region as scheduled. So that's why we arrived to Leh two days in advance which we decided to spend visiting Nubra valley. As far as the organization of the trip, all went fine. We have a great time and thank all of you for all the effort and support. Best regards ".

Carlo Pedron and group. Milano. Italy. July-aug. 2004

"At first, let’s thanks you for our trek, it was a big interesting experience with really a kind people than Sanjay (always ready to help). Prem (who can made all food for you was like a magician), and Sonam (shyest horseman in all the Himalayan mountains). They are discreet, helpful, always smiling all the things which are necessary to have good time. We really enjoyed our trip, and sure that we will keep your address for us or friends who would like to discover Ladakh. And we hope, we can come back later in this place to discover another part of Ladakh. Thanks lot, Jullay. From Muriel and Stephane, France. September 2003.

"All in all we had a fantastic trek to Chandratal. The team was very helpful and the level of service was impressive. They did everything they could to make us feel comfortable, and they kept the enthusiasm through the hole trek. In particular we were impressed by the food that was served - some of the best we got in India :) Even though it was the monsoon period, we had great weather, only raining once for a few hours. Because of the clear weather we were able to enjoy the great landscapes surrounding us. After the trek KG took us for a day of sightseeing around Manali. This was a very nice gesture and we were really overwhelmed by his kindness and hospitality. Thank you very much for a great trek and a remarkable experience!! We have already recommended Potala Adventures to our friends. Send our best wishes to Tanzin, Gian, Neema, Nirmal, his younger brother and KG. Kind regards-

Lars, Nashwan, Sachin and Soren, Denmark 18th-25th july 2003.

"The team we are perfectly satisfied of the trek and its organization. The team was quite efficient and also very kind scrupulous and mindful of everything. We appreciate to have realized all that was planned and respected the schedule. The landscapes were beautiful and we like also the visit of monasteries. We were glad also to notice that it was possible discuss alternating possibilities for the part of the itinerary and that they were studied careful (like possibilities of making Stok-kangri ascent at Stok valley). We had a feeling of good communication with our team and it was very pleasant. I also congratulate also for the good quality and various cooking. So our trek was perfect and we had a marvelous of Ladakh and Zaskar".

From P WARSZTACKI, Bruxelles, BELGIQUE. July, August 2003.

"Perfect ascent of Stok Kangri in a 4 days climb from Leh, one week in the area of Leh is a perfect acclimatization. Base and advanced base camp in surrounded by beautiful nature. The summit of the elegant 6153 meter mountain is steep but without technical difficulty. The guide knows how to let enjoy this lovely country with surprises of lovely food and friendship with I’ll never forget. This experience asks for another visit. When you saw already mountains all over the world, you must go to Ladakh and ask for this guide! "

We completed our 4 days hamta pass trek on 14th July, 2011. It was a really great experience with all the modern facilities provided to us by Tenzin Ningbo. The taste of food along with the presentation of food at an altitude of over 3500mts was just great. We were also amazed by the knowledge about the area in which we were trekking shared to us by our guide Mr.Ravi. The trekking equipment’s used were also of good quality.

H. Gajjar and R. Surey - Gujrat - India - 11 July - 14 July, 2011

“Potala Adventurers is a winning combination of skill, professionalism and personalized service. All through the 5 days trek we felt we were in safe, trustworthy hands of our guide Ravinder. Who navigated us through various terrains – steep hills, snow laden landscapes and lovely alpine meadow.  The campsites were well chosen and even in the most difficult situations, we were treated to a variety of delicious meals – which definitely helped keep our spirits high. Mr. Tenzin of Potala Adventurers made sure that our trip was perfect in every way. We would definitely recommend Potala Adventurers to anyone who wishes to explore the wonders of the Himalayas”.

"Potala Adventures is superbly managed and operated adventure group. We have never expected the Hamta pass trek to be so amazing, super punctual and efficient professionals. We also had the world best chai, mutton curry, pizza and Chowmin at 14000 feet ".

The trek to Deo Tibba was a soul-finding experience for me and the kids. They will surely remember it for a long time, and later on in life realize how it brought them close together. For me, it was a different experience. I learnt a lot. I learnt the meaning of quality of service, work ethic, the elevation of guests (us) to a status far beyond what I have ever enjoyed. For that I am grateful to our guide Ravinder (also called Virender) and to our helper Anil and cook Tashi. Our horseman who took a low key place deserves great praise for just doing his (very crucial) job very quietly. As the weather tunred bad, the quality of service got better. I remember when the water flooded our tent; ravinder dug a turret around it to keep the water flowing around the tent, not into it. All this is sub-zero weather. My daughter will never forget the hot steaming soup and the four course dinners served with enthusiasm and a smile. POTALA Adventurers people take great pride and pleasure in doing their jobs well. It is a rare thing and the purity of their satisfaction at making us comfortable, come rain or shine or snow, is a humbling experience. I also think it is a dying culture, because very few people take pride in their work, above and beyond the call of duty. So I am grateful to POTALA adventurers for keeping it alive. It is so much part of what I admire of your hardy Pahadi culture. The Pahari people are honest, forthright and proud, and do not compromise the quality of service. From the first moment I felt secure about taking my three kids with me (something that my wife always worried about). I learned a lot from Ravinder about botany and the treasures of nature. He reminds me of the character in the Kurosawa movie " Dersu Uzala: The Hunter" (please tell him to watch it -- he will relate to it like no one else can). We didn’t just have a great time, we came away much richer with the experience. And yes, the splendor of the Himalayas is a breathtaking sight to behold. There is a reason the Gods live there.

Kishore and family - 06 June 2010

Formally having trekked to Beas Kund on 16.10.09, I have returned with more friend who were hungry for adventure. Deo Tibba trek has satisfied us in every way. I have experienced everything I have set out for, passing through forest, hiding in caves during hail storms and walking against snow fall. The best moment was conquering peak Raudi Khodi on 29.05.10 with my friends.

Our Guide Virender (same guide on Beas Kund ) made it as amazing as it would be. Sheru our cook was just as good a code of Bheem of Mahabharat. We have renamed Tenzin Adventure. I thank a lot for giving us everything we needed, will keep coming back to Tenzin and Virender.

Dr. Solomon S Pudi++ 31.05.10.

The 4 nights 5 days trek organized by Potala Adventurers was an excellent experience for us. All the arrangements were great right from pick up at the Manali station to the food on trek.

The itinerary was tailored to our requirements with Tenzin being flexible to accommodate to our change in schedule.

We had an excellent time thanks to our guide – Mr. Ravindra who was very patience and also was very knowledgeable about the local community, flora and landscape. It was a great learning for us to go on the trek with him, again many thanks to Tenzin and his entire team for a wonderful holiday, highly recommended. Regards

S. Ramanathan and A. Tandan. 17 April 2010. Banglore.

“I am kind of person with a thirst for adventure, and all the adventurous out there. Potala Adventurers should be the first choice. I have never been on a trek before and the experience was outstanding.

The service... Too good

The food... Awesome

The guide... Very friendly

Words cannot express my experience on this trek to Beas Kund organized by Potala Adventurers. I would choose Potala for very next trek. I would happily suggest the name of Potala Adventurers for all those who have a taste for adventure. Tenzin Ningbo- you rock man ".
From Kakinada. Andhra Pradesh. October 2009.

"My recent trip dt 16-19 Oct. to Beas Kund has surpassed all my ideas and expectations of a trek. Adventure should be given first name.. Tenzin. I am glad i found the right man for the job, awesome adventure, and incredible experience. Ask the Kirlog i put at 4000mtrs above MSL. It might kill you. Veerender our guide is VEER (former SASE). He is wasting his time. He should be working with National Geographic, for his capability. I won’t call a 5 star intercontinental only because there wasn’t a sauce made the soup bowl. Way 2 tease the appetite Sheru Bhai, loved the experience.

I recommend everyone what I had to feel and love life. Thanks ".

Dr. Solomon S  Pudi. Rangalaya Med. Collage. October 2009.

"We greatly enjoyed the service of Potala Adventures for the trek to Beas Kund. It was a very well organized trek, and the staff that accompanied us was very gorgeous, experienced and pleasant. All in all, it was great experience, highly recommended! "

Mr. Neeraj and Miss Sumanda , June 2009

"For the first time person like one coming to the Himalayas with no apparent experience in high altitude trekking, my mind was little tensed, but once we arrived at Manali and met Mr. Tenzin Ningbo and he detailed us about the trip and when we met our guide our worries began to slow down.

I must sincerely thank the whole crew and Potala Adventurers for organizing us such a beautiful trek. The whole crew was excellent.

The guide Mr. Tashi was superb. His care and his skills in the snow and mountain was a pleasure to watch.

The cook Mr. Kishan was also helpful and caring, preparing delicious food and watching us in each step.

The porter who gave us a good company and treated us like real guests was also enjoyable.

In brief we had a beautiful experience and i have made up my mind that I will be back for more in the Himalayas next time with Potala Adventurers

Krishna and friend 31-05-2009
